Segata Sanshiro (せがた三四郎 )is a freaking legend, and I don’t know how I’ve managed to live in this country for 4 years without hearing about him and his devotion to gaming. Being a gamer myself, I bow down to his dedication and enforcement of good gaming practices. Wait - Enforcement? Yes, you read correctly.
Segata was created by Sega to advertise its Sega Saturn gaming console. Although the console ultimately flopped, the legend of Segata Sanshiro lives on. He is a judo master and his name is a play on “Sega Saturn, shiro!” - or “Play Sega Saturn!”.
His videos can be found on YouTube, but this user has most of them. Also, click here for an English explanation of the history, origins and a lot more Segata commercials.

The Tokyo Game Show has always been held close to the hearts of the Sushimatic crew - where else can you play games and look at girls in skimpy costumes.
Again, we shall do our best to attend this year. The TGS will be held from 20 September, 2007 to 24 September 2007 - wait…. four days? Yes, ladies and gentlemen, an extra day has been added to for the games industry / media / press.
This further reinforces the fact that the TGS matters to the games industry and is now one of the largest (if not THE largest) games expos in the world.

You may not have any idea what CC Lemon is, so let me break it down for you before I send you on your way -
it’s very sweet fizzy lemon pop. Or soda. Or whatever you may call it round your way. It also has the vitamin C of 70 lemons in one 500ml serving! I am not, however, clear if these lemons are actually donating their vitamin C or if it’s all artificially added. I suspect the latter.
Anyway, I recently discovered the CC Lemon site, where CC Lemon Man lives! Crikey. Lots of well-executed Flash fun for all the family - you can check out some of his films by clicking on the cinema, you can read a comic by clicking on the library convenience store, you can play a ’stuff people on the crowded train’ game by clicking on the station, and you can learn about CC Lemon by clicking on the truck. (Although Japanese reading abilities may be required for full appreciation of this particular feature.)
There’s probably even more goodies lurking around CC Lemon Town - let us know if you find any.
Thanks to Open Dave for the link!

Well, you can only get this cash card if you live in Kyoto, bank with Kyoto Shinkin, are over 18, and aren’t a foreign person (I imagine) but it still looks cool.
It’s also got magical powers -
The card is outfitted with an IC chip to prevent counterfeiting and which stores the biometric reading of the customer’s finger! Card carriers can withdraw yen from ATMs with special readers that check biometric authentication of intravenous patterns.

Burger Time, an old arcade classic that you can still play using MAME, has been reborn for the 21st century, a century that may very well turn out to be the century of sushi. Or perhaps not.
In Sushi Samurai you take control of a samurai, who is hell bent on making sushi. He seems incapable of pulling out his sword though, something which would come in handy defeating the evil tofu baddies who roam the levels.
The music rocks, and its a fun diversion if you’re fortunate enough to have the internet around at those most boring moments in life; when you’re at work. (Link.)
Hats off to Crushmonkey for the link.
