Women Practice for Bon Odori

This is not a meeting of the Hawaiian Marcel Marceau Fan Club. Despite the outifts and the poses.
Neither is it a gathering of the Revive The Hustle Organization. Despite the poses.

This is from the front cover of the Fuji City magazine which comes to my house every other week and taunts me by featuring all kinds of information about all kinds of things that I can’t read. These ladies are no doubt getting a groove on for the Bon Odori festival - a kind of dancing festival. As you may already have figured out.

Edit - I shouldn’t post before coffee number 2. While this may be part of a festival, if you have the wits enough to read the headline you’ll see that this picture is of the Hula Dance Club. Quite what this has to do with anything, I don’t know. But it happened in Fuji, and that’s good enough for the writers of this magazine.
