Hikki’s Back

Utada Hikaru is a legend as far as I’m concerned - she makes gorgeous pop music that might miss the mark at times - her English album, Exodus was fairly inconsistent in quality - but it’s never dull. She released her new album, Ultra Blue on the 14th of June - you can hear some samples from it over at her website. It never fails to astound me how domestic CDs here are usually above the 3000 Yen mark, while Britney et al rock in at half that. Way to protect your homegrowns, guys.
Anyway, I thought I’d put up a couple of her older songs for you to watch, as some of her videos are fantastic; especially the ones directed by Kazuaki Kiriya (as these are) the director of Casshern and Hikaru’s husband.
