How To Make Taco Rice
When you think of Japanese cuisine, I imagine sushi comes to mind. Perhaps ramen. How about tempura?
Well, sushi started off in China, as did ramen. Tempura is Portugese. In another 500 years, do you think people will be surprised when it’s pointed out to them that taco rice came from Mexico, via an American army base in Okinawa?
I hope so. That would be cool.
Here’s how I made some taco rice myself (and yes, its an honest to God “Japanese” dish - check out the Wikipedia entry).
You will need :

1.First up, you’ll need to fire up your rice cooker. Or however you cook rice in your house.
2.Cook the mince and add the taco mix according to instructions.
3.While you’re waiting for that, shred the lettuce and quarter the tomatoes.
4.Put the mince on top of the rice, add some cheese, then add the lettuce and tomatoes.
5.Now for the piece de resistance! The taco shells. Which, erm, hang on. Oh I forgot to buy some. Never mind - I have these Ethnic Curry Pringles:
Crush some of these and sprinkle over the top.
6. Hey presto!
