How To Study Kanji On Your iPod
I gots me a shiny new iPod for Christmas, courtesy of Santa. I’ve spent the last 10 days nurturing it into the beacon of multi media glee it now is.
Everyone and his/her dog should know about Japanese Pod 101 by now, and it’s a given that anyone wanting to study Japanese with an mp3 player of any description would find their way there.
I’m well aware that they have other study material available too, but I think you have to pay for that, and I’m a cheapskate. To help me with my kanji, I discovered Kanjipod, a collection of kanji neatly organized in to tidy little categorized zip files. Simply download, unzip to your iPod’s notes section and voila - instant kanji benkyo on the go. (Well, not quite instant as the iPod insists on checking each note and this takes a bit of time, but near enough.)
You can get Kanjipod here.
I also just finished my daily dose of Wakan which is a gorgeous freeware Japanese learning tool, it serves double time as a dictionary (for kanji and vocabulary) and self-testing software. You can generate learning lists using it, which can be saved as csv files, and then exported to your iPod for studying on the way to work.
Enjoy.

Learn to say “Konichiwa” with your iPod…
We all know that iPods are cool, but really you can listen to music almost anytime and anywhere. What really makes the latest iPods so cool is all the other things you can do with them, like learn another language.
Sushimatic has a great post today on …
