Must have missed the story that this article is referring to, but it’s nice to know that in workaholic Japan, you can still get away with stunts like this -
an employee of the municipal government’s sanitation section had worked only eight days over the past five years
Even better, it turns out he was sprung back in April, yet continued to get away with it until he finally decided the working life was too much for him - he quit in October, without ever having being reprimanded.
Its no wonder Japanese people hate civil servants with a passion that has scared me on at least one occasion.

if you`d watched the news you`d realise he quit after the press started following him around asking aquestions

Yeah, I totally missed this story somehow… Its mad to think that if the press hadn’t started following him, he’d have just kept on the way he was.
