Sushi Documentary
Sushimatic is go! A slinky new blog about a hoary old chestnut - Japan. There’s lots more I could say, but I’ve already said it on the About page.
And so, without further ado, I bring you our first post - the legendary sushi documentary that you should take with a pinch of salt: it has its basis in reality, but is largely a complete fabrication. See if you can spot what’s true and what’s not…
And see if you can spot more falsities than Crushmonkey did. I think he scored about 3, if memory serves.

No idea what is true and what is not, but I was impressed by the bowing. I never realised it was such a high-risk activity. The three chaps at the end look bare millimetres away from bashing skulls!

Ha ha ha, I think this is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen! From the “correct” hand placement for opening noren to showing a little guilt if you’re dining alone… wow, kudos to whomever put this gem together!!!

Glad you liked it - its by a comedy duo called ラメンズ (ramenzu for those of you without IME) and their profile is here. All in Japanese, I’m afraid. I’ve seen them on TV a couple of times, and they are always deadpan. Makes it confusing at the best of times.

Funny enough the hand placement is real, the guilty single look isn’t though.
